Our Perspective & Objective

Wild Moon Nature Club

Our Story: As a family we love spending time outdoors, camping and going on adventures. Wild Moon was developed to provide children with opportunities during the school holidays to spend more time outdoors and develop an appreciation of learning within a natural environment.

Our Aim: Our Nature club aims to provide children from 5-11 years old with the opportunities to learn at their own pace and follow their own interests. The children will set their own goals and outcomes for each session. We will take time to support the children throughout their learning journeys, it is not the outcome that is important, it is the learning throughout the process that matters.

At Wild Moon Nature Club we will focus on providing hands-on learning through a range of experiences, helping to support the development of children’s confidence, self-esteem, and a connection with nature.

Teamwork makes the dream work

Our site and our founders

Our Wild Moon Site is located on our Nursery Facility site New Moon Nursery. Due to the vast availability of space at our Warmfield nursery, we decided to develop our Wild Moon Nature Clubs for older school aged children during the school holidays.

We have access to a large area which consists of a Wild Garden, where children can learn how to safely use tools within our workshop area. There is an orchard and trees where children can make dens. There is also a planting area for learning about and planting fruit and vegetables. We also have some chickens!

Our Play area houses our Tipi and fire pit. Here we also have a large sandpit and mud kitchen where children can play freely. Our natural activities will be set up in this area and within the Tipi where children can choose activities that interest them. Our Wild Moon Nature club will take part in different areas of the site depending on what the children are learning and developing.

Anna and Stuart Friend will be running the sessions along with some helpers. Anna and Stuart are Level 3 qualified in the Wild Passport Training, which ensures they have the necessary skills to support children’s learning in the outdoor environment.

You will see the car park on your arrival and our Tipi on our Wild Moon Site. Anna and Stuart will be awaiting your arrival in order to register your children for the Nature Club.

Both boys loved the 2 days. They learnt new skills and came back with lots of stories about their days as well as lots of handmade treasures. At ages 10 and 6 it can be hard to find things they both enjoy but they both loved being at Wild Moon.
